SWEARERS FUNERAL SERVICE have been serving the population of Ramsey and surrounding areas since the early l9th century.
Mr. A. N. Swearer, who came to this country from Germany with his family, began trading in the town as a builder and undertaker, being joined by his son George, who continued to run the business after his father died.
In the early 1940's, Mr. Percy Smith, a local man, joined forces with George Swearer and continued trading as A. N. Swearer and Son. In 1947 after his demob form the Armed forces, Mr. Douglas Smith joined his father, taking over the funeral side. Following the death of Mr. Percy Smith, Douglas then changed the name to Swearers Funeral Service.
William Peacock and Sons of Huntingdon, another long established family owned funeral directors, took control following the retirement of Mr. Douglas Smith in the 1980's and continue the same tradition of personal service the people of Ramsey expect and deserve.
Swearers Funeral Service are proud to be members of the National Association of Funeral Directors and abide by their strict rules and Code of Practice.
